The four packs being offered together for a limited time, make up a very unique special edition newv package, as well as a quantum leap in detailed, and very complex, features.

In addition, the 900 ER X2 airlines that you see in screen shots here, have all been placed in a single, advanced Airline Expansion Pack (instead of single packages) making the choice of which to buy an easier and more economical one (the decision which of the 12 aircraft to fly will be up to you).

A more efficient and advanced breakthrough in the base pack means that a large leap in FPS will be experienced by all users from low end P4 to multi-core. 12-15 to 20-25 FPS increase - fully loaded and maxxed - means even better performance and with FSX, this is seen as a much welcomed technological advance for airliner use in the growing, busy airport and effects world of FSX.

The technology in X2 has been developed to a much higher level to work on all start up and in-flight systems (beyond that of SP1 or an other package we have ever made) and a host of new system enhancements and new developments have been added. The Engine Pack features a new, re-mixed engine soundset, more passive and much more realistic which makes flying the aircraft not only more of a pleasureable experience but allows every switch and sequence to be clearly heard (gone are the scream of engines). Everything happens in a much more ordered and more relaxed fashion with engine sound being transferred through bass levels and not in the high-end areas. New and advanced animations have been stepped up to accurate, actual timings so areas such as flap, engine, door and others map to the timings of the real aircraft.

Engine starting is much more realistic meaning more complex management (a thorough understanding of the logic-based elements of the Boeing 737-900 ER is now essential, as is the reading of the copious, 250 page manuals supplied). Packs need to be off, electrics on, ground or APU power on, etc. a correct setup is paramount or the engines will not engage and start.

A new Synchresis II Audio Engine works within the new version to governs over 1500 sound events (from only 750 in Synchresis I) and a full Galley Management pack includes accurate, PAX and Catering door locking and securing/management features. A Flight Attendant Panel with full lighting management; work light, overhead light, EXIT, pax lights; features a 'dim lighting' aspect which automatically occurrs at the correct dusk/night times and as the switch is operated, plays the audio accompaniment telling passengers they can use the reading light, etc.

FlyTUNES - This is an absolute FIRST FOR FSX in X2. With its interactive input, audio management panel, it can play different suites of music as well as a complete set of announcements/sounds/languages as well as music during boarding, in flight and during deplaning. And more packs will be relased as time goes by to cater for foreign languages.

In addition to the features, a new 'call' feature will bring airstairs FWD and AFT from off the ramp safe area to wheel up and arrive and dock. The new feature allows the stairs to both be called from off ramp and the Captain can watch from the window of the flight deck as the the stairs wheel up and dock. Once connected the Captain can then become a number one, jump to the Galley and manage the galley audio and lighting areas. The job of being a flight simulator pilot has never become more complex!

The airstairs have been designed to emulate the movement toward FWD and AFT areas from their locations so that view is not too impaired as they draw up to the fuselage. Each separate airstair can be called upon, separately from the drop down menu and chosen to both be placed or for the AFT section only to be placed thereby allowing the built-in aircraft airstairs to be used at the FWD section only and the AFT at the rear. This level of choice offers even more management prior to flight.

TECHNOLOGY
Further to changes made to the architecture of the model build working with a new SDK in FSX, a way of revising how files are dynamically managed and arranged with the model promopted a complete redesign of the modeling. This has produced a more efficient, flying 3d model in FSX. As such, the new and more advanced technology will literally INCREASE FPS in all modes, on all PC ranges when installed and running. Examples: Average increase on low-end systems: FRM 12-15 FPS. (FPS increases can be expected to be even higher on high-end systems). Such new and more advanced modeling means an altogether more efficient and dynamic model and performance set ensuring greater and more complex flight responses as well as the ability to build on more dynamic and detailed foundations for future systems and sets. In addition to the new and more liquid FPS, a new and even more detailed update has been introduced to all of the warning lights and lozenges. This means more readable and more detailed caution lights and lamps with further, more accurate system scanning!

ENGINES
New sounds and new mixing now offers a blend of sounds and multiple sound layers from newly developed files. The engine soundsets offer a more sophisticated range and offer more spatial separation than previously released. Working in higher, upper memory areas, the sounds offer an increased level of ambience and effects such as bass movement of engine blade rotation, high bypass vibrations and greater definition means that the sounds experienced can be heard on high end speaker systems connected to more professional PCs. The sounds also represent the sin qua non of sound for home cockpit builders. The sounds will especially relate to real pilots who know these ranges.

Below: For those who have an eye for detail, on activation of the landing lights, the exterior lights housed under and into the fuselage will light up and slowly drop down into position.

SYNCHRESIS II
The advent of Synchresis II. A new series of sound sets with a more defined and powerful range, more effects and even more dynamic characteristics. Sounds are created across over 1000 event sets. Each and every switch that features a sound will play the sound from the cockpit it was originally recorded from. In addition, a host of new sounds such as warnings, cautions, doors, locks, wind, audio and music. These have all been added to increase the range to an exponential level.

Add the HD detail of the 900 ER X2 Airline Expansion Pack to the Base Pack X2 release and you will note that detail is not the only item on the menu. Each of the airline aircraft also feature the same level of high detail and performance as well as the complete list of features that their base pack partner contains, making every airline you fly as detailed as each other. In addition to the levels of detail, some future updates will add seat cloth colours and every other fine detail that the orginal, numbered aircraft features. You could say, almost down to every scratch.

GALLEY MANAGEMENT
A completely remodeled Galley Management Area offers a more complex and challenging area than previously released. The galley requires full pre-flight and after-flight management as per the manual. Door opening is a three part operation. Interactive use of the phrase 'doors (cross check) to manual' is called via the audio panel and is used prior to unlocking, door opening and securing. Following door opening, the pilot or crew member entering the entrance will need to apply STANDBY power if not GU connected or at a gate. This will supply the power required to operate the airstairs (all sounds included) and to oeprate the lighting prior to flight deck door operation and Captain engaging APU or GU. Door closure requires a caution warning, door closing, latching and handle closure and then the manual covering of the window with the red bar to show the door has been locked.

AUDIO MANAGEMENT
Audio Management Panel is a new area. Its unique feature signal the early development of 'FlyTunes' or fliTUNES? as a new concept - a new and more dynamic audio interface provides crews with access to every flight announcement, selectable purely from the audio panel as it is on the real airliner. Via a 'jump' feature to the Gally, a crew member can take the place of a number one, momentarilly, to set audio commands and warnings, announcemnts and information as well as mucic tracks prior, during or in-flight. The Audio Management Panel also includes optional announcements and warnings feature as well as the unique ability  to designate MUZAK to a number of the tracks (using a future tuition and SDK pack). Future packs planned will also  include several music packages as well as music and voice selections, foreign language packs etc. all switchable from the Audio Managment Panel interface.

The aircraft is Software Version X2. A comprehensive, Scale-Accurate Aircraft with over 250 enhanced animations & effects. The speedy, frame-rate performance in FSX takes low edn machines from a sample rate of 12 to 15 upwards and 20 to 48 to 54 on higher multi-core models. Leading Software Aircraft Design with the shape to Boeing spec. and plans. Greater optimised poly points means new more advanced performance and a better logic engine for exceptionally fast, frame rate performance. The 3d-modeled Scale-Accurate familiarisation-level & procedural-level Virtual & Interactive Flight Deck features over 1000 working events, calls and sounds with working control systems linked to logical cross referencing, system modules and suites. Manage the entire aircraft according to normal procedures (with the option to use printed versions).

FMC - over 40 pages of FMC with comprehensive data LOAD/SAVE/CO ROUTE and the added ability to make and save SID and STAR data enroute and inflight.
FMCS - advanced logical control of the flight deck environment for professional level use.
MCP - An MCP designed and built to CBT spec at an all-working competent level with a 'hot-swap' feature so users can move from early roll out version to the new Rockwell versions in-flight.
IRS - Fully working IRS System with manual setting and auto logic/pre-sets.

BACKUP GAUGES - Featuring 'hot-swap' feature to go from digital to analogue versions inflight and enroute.

ADVANCED CFM567b SOUND & FDx PACKAGE
Sound has been recorded both on board in the flight deck area and outside of the exterior of a Boeing 737 aircraft from different spatial points from the engine nexus in blast-safe areas, across CMI CFM engine variant range using sophisticated, advanced recording equipment and mixing and editing (high-level, professional, 44hz min. spec. mixed output compressed for smaller footprint and to optimise FSX sound engine and commands and locations/cones). The engine sounds on this model produce an exceptionally realistic and high quality, stereo-processed, full sound - the quality sound of choice for home cockpit builders worldwide.

A new set of liveries will complete the X2 Experience and provide Alaska, Arkefly, BCA, Continental, Excel, Futura, Lion, Lion Air, Sky, Spice Jet and XL Airways for pilots to fly around the FSX world (see the Boeing 737-900ER X2 AIRLINE UPGRADE PACK).

For many current and new 900 ER X pilots, the X2 will offer a much more complex and professional world to fly and manage. But with practice, as they say, will come perfection.


Manuals included in the release as PDF offer Installation, Flight Reference Guide & Flight Training and will take pilots from ramp starts to complete flight routing and a demo flight with input and management for the complete route and data with charts and further performance data included.

Printed Manauls are also available at special rates from the Boeing 737-OPS section as bound or cellophane-wrapped in drilled blocks with additional charts and checklists included. A quality, leather faced, ring bound binder is also available with the printed set.

The packs are being offered with the X2 release for a limited period so they are sure to be quite popular.
